What we do

In simple terms: we help companies whose capital structures no longer fit their circumstances, and the creditors who hold their debt. Markets turn, covenants tighten and maturities arrive. When they do, the quality of advice a company receives determines what happens next.

Most debt advice comes from institutions that also lend, trade or hold positions in the situations they advise on. Ravenhill was founded on a simpler model: no balance sheet to protect, no product to place, retained by clients and answerable only to them. We work on a small number of mandates at a time, each led by a partner from first meeting to final signature.

What we hold to

Four commitments, held on every mandate. They are the reason clients arrive by referral, and return.

Independence

No balance sheet, no products, no positions. We are paid by clients, and only by clients, so our advice answers to no one else.

Discretion

Our situations are sensitive by nature. We are structurally private: codenames on every mandate, disclosure only as our clients direct.

Precision

Credit is a detail business. Terms, baskets, covenants and intercreditor mechanics: outcomes are won and lost in the drafting.

Alignment

Fee structures weighted to outcomes, not activity. We do well when our clients do, and we decline mandates we cannot stand behind.

The Team

Partner-led. Always.

Our senior team is drawn from international investment banks, restructuring practices and credit funds across the major international financial centres. Between them, they have structured, negotiated and restructured debt through every market cycle since the financial crisis.

We keep the firm deliberately small. Every mandate is led by the people who accepted it. There is no hand-off to a junior team once the engagement letter is signed.

How we engage

Simple to begin, precise once begun. The first conversation costs nothing but an hour.

01 — A private conversation

Every engagement begins with a confidential discussion of the situation: unpriced, unpressured, and without obligation.

02 — A defined mandate

We put our name to specific, written objectives. Scope, team, timeline and fees are agreed before work begins, and honoured after.

03 — A single point of accountability

One partner owns the outcome and answers for it, to the board, for the duration of the mandate.

Credentials matter, but chemistry decides. We would welcome the conversation.
